Feed Your Soul

whether it's through your work...

a change of scenery, co-working, coffee with a friend or learning when to say "NO".

It's been 10 months since I officially went full time freelance (not by choice) and it's been an awesome experience! I had always dreamed of being a freelance designer. I worked at life-draining jobs so that I could one day pursue that dream. Then, I found myself unexpectedly in an internship position for an amazing company I truly loved. I made incredible friends and learned so much...but I wasn't able to stay on permanently like I had hoped. I was heartbroken. 💔

To say that 2017 was one of the most exciting and disappointing years of my life would be accurate. There were a lot of speed bumps and let downs last year. Luckily, I was too busy in my freelance adventures to really dwell on all the personal things going on in my life. I wrote a really long and rambling blog post this morning about what it has been like and taking on work that feeds your soul. I have yet to hit publish though. Maybe I never will.Sometimes you just have to write to work things out...

One thing I've really realized though is to make sure you feed your soul, whether it's through your work, a change of scenery, co-working, coffee with a friend or learning when to say "NO". It's also charging what your worth, disciplining yourself, learning to refine your processes and services and to remember why you wanted to go freelance in the first place.
